This photo won the World Press of the year award in 1980. It was taken by Michael Wells a British Photographer. He was embarrassed to enter this photo to a competition as it showed someone starving to death.
Especially after doing the Photovoice D&AD brief on wealth and poverty this image particularly stood out to me and completely got me. It is the contrast of the two hands and how they are in the centre and focused. It is a very powerful image.
